How do artists decide on and translate their “look” into photo assets for releases, profile pictures, and beyond? Join us as photographer Dillon Howl walks us through the process of capturing distinct images that tell the story of who we are as an artist. Topics include: how to prepare for shoots, how to translate a vision to a team (on a diy or bigger scale), how to develop your visual POV.
Dillon (@dillonhowl) is a queer mindfulness-based photographer & director working primarily in music. As the creative director of experimental artist KUČKA, her work has been featured in The Guardian, FACT Mag, Rollingstone, +. She specializes in working with developmental artists on finding their POV, using a combination of mindfulness-based/experimental techniques. She is currently in post-production for an upcoming project with artist Nailah Hunter.
Additional Information: This event prioritizes all marginalized genders, including but not limited to trans women, cis women, trans men, non-binary, intersex, gender nonconforming, two-spirit and questioning folx. We ask that our cis male allies and friends respectfully do not sign up, as we recognize that electronic music is overwhelmingly dominated by cis men.
