Our Funding

FCCW is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Membership fees and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. All funding received goes into our space, programming, projects, and to pay the people and artists involved in FCCW. We value transparency and conversation around funding for our organization, if you have any specific questions not addressed here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at [email protected].

Our funding comes almost exclusively from the following six categories:

Membership

We currently have approximately 750 members who pay between $5 and $300 a month. Over 90% of our members pay between $5-10/month.

Individual Giving

Each year we host one or more fundraisers or auctions where supporters buy tickets, purchase artwork, and make donations.

Earned Income

This primarily consists of sales of merch, Co-Conspirator Press books, and SALIMA Magazine.

Private Foundations

We are, or have been, generously supported by several private foundations: California Community Foundation, Getty Foundation, WHH Foundation, Wilhelm Family Foundation, Parson’s Foundation, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and a donation via the Tides Foundation to support our Emergency Health Grant for Artists.

Government Grants

We regularly receive programming and operations grants from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles County Arts and Culture, the California Arts Council, and National Endowment for the Arts.

Projects and Partnerships

We regularly partner with other arts, civic, and cultural organizations to present projects and programming that are often supported with project budgets.
