Rooted in DIY approaches to sound making, this workshop explores how electronic musicians and bedroom producers can transfer their skills to experimental composition & sound design for the world of film & moving image. The guest artist. Yessi, will demo her own workflows, discuss resources and best practices for working with filmmakers, and invite participants to partake in a live scoring exercise.

Participants are welcome, but not required to bring items from their own music setups, whether laptops with DAW,  electronic gear, acoustic or amplified instruments, hand percussion tools– anything that makes sound is welcome!

Feminist Synth Lab prioritizes all marginalized genders, including but not limited to trans women, cis women, trans men, non-binary, intersex, gender nonconforming, two-spirit and questioning folx. We ask that our cis male allies and friends respectfully do not sign up, as we recognize that electronic music is overwhelmingly dominated by cis men.
