The Getty Marrow Development & Storytelling Intern at the Feminist Center for Creative Work (FCCW) will gain hands-on experience in using storytelling to advance the mission of a feminist, nonprofit arts organization.
Working closely with FCCW’s communications and development staff, the intern will help craft narratives and media that highlight artist projects, engage audiences, and strengthen relationships with members, donors, and community partners. Responsibilities include writing, editing, and assisting with outreach, grants, donor relations, and promotional materials. For candidates who are interested, this role can provide opportunities to apply photo, video, drawing, design and/or other art and media skills toward storytelling.
Over the course of the term, the intern will conceptualize, develop, and take ownership of a storytelling project that documents FCCW’s programs and artists, culminating in a digital or print feature that shares the impact of the organization’s work with a broader public.
In this role, our intern can expect to receive training in nonprofit communications, arts development, and project management, gaining practical skills in research, writing, editing, and digital storytelling for a feminist arts organization. They will learn how to craft narratives that align with institutional values and engage diverse audiences, as well as transferable skills donor cultivation and archiving.
The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented and organized, with great communication skills and a desire to connect with people. Experience with writing or creating for a digital or print platform is appreciated, but not required.
The position will be full time Mon–Fri, 40-hours per week at FCCW in Northeast LA, with opportunities to work in-person and remotely, and some evening and/or weekend events.

Internship Term & Pay

- $7,400 for the Internship Term; 40 hours a week for 10 weeks

- Must be a currently enrolled college student or a student graduating in the Spring of 2026 at a school located in LA County, or be a student with a permanent residence in LA County
