A Guided End-of-Life Planning Workshop
We often put off conversations about the end of life. Not because they aren’t important, but because they can feel uncomfortable, overwhelming, or simply like something we have plenty of time to address. Yet one of the most loving things we can do for the people we care about is to make our wishes known before they are needed.
When we take responsibility for putting our affairs in order, documenting our healthcare and end-of-life wishes, and communicating what matters to us, we give our loved ones something invaluable: clarity. Instead of asking them to make difficult decisions while they are frightened, overwhelmed, or grieving our loss, we leave them a loving plan to follow.
A Loving Plan is a four-week guided workshop created to help you begin that process in a compassionate, supportive environment. Together, we will move through the practical, personal, and often deeply meaningful work of preparing for the future—from organizing important information and choosing who will speak for you, to putting your affairs in order and considering how you want your wishes, values, and legacy to be honored.
This four-week pilot program is centered around A Loving Plan: Everything in One Place, a comprehensive guided workbook created by Certified Death Doula and Senior Transition Advisor Kenitra J. Beauford. Rather than asking participants to face what can feel like a daunting task alone, the workshop provides a supportive environment in which to begin the process together. Participants will be guided through practical and personal conversations about organizing important information, advance care and decision-making, putting financial and personal affairs in order, communicating end-of-life wishes, and considering legacy, remembrance, and what matters most.
This workshop is open to any participants, complete the form below to share your interest by Monday, Oct 12!
The Four-Week Journey
Session 1 — Getting Organized: Everything in One Place
Saturday, October 17 | 10:00 AM
We begin by creating a foundation. Participants will explore their own feelings about death and making their end-of-life plans, identify and begin organizing the essential personal, healthcare, financial, legal, digital, and practical information that loved ones may need.
Session 2 — Who Speaks for Me? Advance Care & Decision-Making
Saturday, October 24 | 10:00 AM
Participants will explore advance care planning, healthcare wishes, choosing the people who can speak on their behalf, and the importance of communicating those decisions before a crisis occurs.
Session 3 — Putting Your Affairs in Order
Saturday, October 31 | 10:00 AM
This session focuses on the practical pieces of planning—from important documents and accounts to insurance, wills and trusts, financial information, digital access, and other details that can become difficult for loved ones to locate or manage.
Session 4 — Your Wishes, Your Legacy & Your Loving Plan
Saturday, November 7 | 10:00 AM
Our final gathering brings the practical and personal pieces together. Participants will consider funeral and memorial wishes, obituary information, personal messages, spiritual or personal preferences, legacy, and how they would like to be remembered.
Each session is approximately 90 minutes.
Workshop Details
The workshop is being offered without a separate workshop or facilitation fee as part of this inaugural pilot program. Participants purchase the required A Loving Plan workbook for $114, which serves as both the course material and a personal planning resource participants can continue using long after the workshop concludes. Because each session builds upon the previous one, participants are asked to commit to attending all four sessions in-person. Space is intentionally limited to 10 participants, and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those unable to join this first group may be placed on a waiting list for a future workshop.
