We’re joining former FCCW Artist-in-Residence, Yasmine Nasser Diaz, to activate the exhibit she helped conceive with partners OXY ARTS and LAND — for the sake of dancing in the street, running at OXY ARTS from June 3–July 29.
The show — featuring works by Yasmine, LASTESIS, and Morehshin Allahyari, along with several collaborators — looks at the interconnectedness of feminist and queer resistance, through the perspectives of the artists, as well as the incorporation of archival material from around the globe.
Included in this archival material is the usage of social media as a tool of resistance. Join us to consider and create via multiple mediums (visual, text, video, etc.), innovate and share best practices, and develop our own social media praxis.
